3 constables kidnapped in Hangu

HANGU, Oct 27: Three policemen were kidnapped during an attack on a checkpoint in Thall on Friday night, sources said.

Officials said that unidentified armed men stormed the checkpoint and kidnapped constables Khan Mir, Munsif Khan and Taj Mohammad.

They said that efforts had been initiated to ensure safe recovery of the policemen.

Eyewitnesses said the gunmen had disrupted a marriage ceremony held at an Afghan refugee camp before the attack on the checkpoint.

The gunmen smashed musical instruments and manhandled some musicians, they added.
