KARACHI, Sept 21: The new academic session of pre-medical and pre-engineering sections at two city colleges would start from Sept 24, a senior official told Dawn.

The two leading colleges of the city – Adamjee and DJ science colleges –informed the director-general colleges (Sindh) that they had completed all the formalities pertaining to the admissions of the new entrants and would be starting their classes for pre-engineering and pre-medical groups from Monday.

“Academic activities at these two colleges would start from Monday, while classes at the remaining over 100 colleges and more than 30 higher secondary schools in the city would start during the next week,” Dr Rafique Ahmed Siddiqui, director-general colleges (Sindh), said.

Meanwhile, the Centralised Admission Policy (CAP) Committee will announce the results of the female applicants for admissions to the commerce faculty on Sunday, said an official.

He said that the CAP Committee would hold a meeting on Saturday to decide over 50 ‘hardship’ cases of meritorious candidates.
