Rs1.8 million robbery in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA, Sept 18: Robbers struck a former bank manager and his tenant in Sharif Farm, Rahwali, on Tuesday and made their way after collecting gold jewellery worth Rs 1.3million and Rs500,000 in cash.

Five outlaws stormed the house of former bank manager Sheikh Izhar Ahmad and took the family on gunpoint. They fled after collecting gold jewellery weighing around one kilogramme (90 tolas) worth over Rs1 million, Rs350,000 in cash and five cellular phones. Earlier, they thrashed the bank manager’s son, Saifullah, who resisted.

Later, they entered the house of Izhar’s tenant, Muhammad Tariq, and took the family on gunpoint. They collected gold jewellery worth Rs180,000 and Rs120,000 in cash and fled. The Cantonment police started investigations.
