CHITRAL: Transfer of DCO sought

Published August 23, 2007

CHITRAL, Aug 22: The Chitral district council has demanded that the provincial government should transfer the district coordination officer for his alleged misbehaviour with a member of the council.

At a meeting presided over by its Convener Sultan Shah here on Wednesday, the council said that the elected representatives must be accorded respect by government officers and no insult to them would be tolerated.

The members threatened to lock the DCO’s offices if he was not transferred by August 27. DCO Kamran Rehman Khan was not allowed by the convener to explain his position.
