NAWABSHAH, July 28: An under trail prisoner died of cardiac arrest in Coronary Care Unit of Nawabshah Medical College Hospital here on Saturday. Niaz Hussain Bhatti 50, an under trail prisoner was shifted to NMC Hospital due to cardiac problem from the district jail on July 12.

The deceased was sent to jail after his arrest in a narcotics case by the Taluka Police in November 2006.

TESTS: More than 507 candidates appeared in written test for the post of constable in the police department, here on Saturday.

The test was conducted at Nawabshah Stadium amid tight security. A heavy contingent of police was deployed and no one except the candidates were allowed in to the premises.

The District Police Officer Nawabshah, Dr. Ghulam Sarwar Jamali, supervised the tests.

Woman killed: 28: A woman was killed by her brother-in-law in village Mariabad near Deparja, on Saturday.

Noor Khatoon, mother of the deceased, lodged an FIR with the Moro police that her daughter was beaten up by Hakim Ali Mari, the brother of Kamil, the husband of her daughter, Hasina. She was 25.

Noor Khatoon said that she and other relatives of her family went to the house of Kamil on Saturday, and complained about the beating of Hasina.

After a heated argument, Hakim became rash and, according to the FIR he opened fire which killed Hasina.
