SHEIKHUPURA, July 23: A farmer and his son were shot dead while three others suffered injuries in an attack and later retaliatory action at Ucha Pind village, about 65 kilometres from here, in Narang Mandi police station area.

Information reaching here revealed that Ashraf and his son Rizwan were irrigating their land when Ghulam Abbas and Younis appeared there and asked the two to stop watering the field.

Reaction by the workers led to a scuffle after which Abbas and Younis opened fire injuring Ashraf, his wife Nasim Bibi and son. The two persons breathed their last in hospital where Nasim Bibi was being treated.

Reacting to it, some relatives of the deceased went to the place of the assailants and shot at and injured both who too were hospitalised in critical condition.
