KARACHI: Woman kills herself

Published July 14, 2007

KARACHI, July 13: A woman committed suicide by slitting her throat in Hijrat Colony here on Friday. Police ruled out foul play but a doctor pointed out that it was not easy to slit one’s own throat using a sharp weapon.

However, the Artillery Maidan police claimed that the woman, identified as Rehana Kausar, 36, slit her throat with a kitchen knife.

She attempted to put an end to her life by consuming poisonous stuff some three days back but survived after receiving timely medical treatment at a hospital.

The police believed it was a suicide case and not a suspected murder.
