KARACHI, July 6: The city government’s health department has been carrying out a vigorous fumigation drive in all towns on a daily basis, according to a CDGK press release issued here on Friday.

It said that the fumigation, aimed at eliminating insects, especially the mosquitoes species responsible for the dengue virus, was being carried out in the morning and evening hours.

While the drive was under way in Gadap, Keamari, Bin Qasim, Orangi, Lyari, North Karachi, Shah Faisal, Liaquatabad and Korangi towns, a five-hour spray in various parts of Saddar Town had been undertaken over the last two days, it added.

The statement said that the city-wide campaign was being supervised by EDO Health Dr A. D. Sanjnani.

The EDO has been directed to procure more insecticides if needed in order to ensure success of the campaign.—PPI
