Two killed over karo-kari

NAWABSHAH, June 25: A man and a woman were shot dead on the pretext of karo-kari in Rawat Chandio village near Qazi Ahmed on Sunday evening. Punhal Chandio, 25, and Ms Zohra, 20, were shot dead on the pretext of karo-kari by the latter’s uncle Ali Hassan alias Hasnu.

Bodies of the deceased were taken to Qazi Ahmed Rural Health centre for post mortem.

Later, Ms Haleema, mother of deceased Punhal lodged an FIR under sections 302 and 34 PPC at Qazi Ahmed Police Station stating that his son was a farmer and was working in fields of Ali Hassan alias Hasnu.

She further stated that Ali Hassan called her son to dig a water course and killed him with the help of his relative Ali Nawaz. She said that her son was innocent who was shot dead by Hasnu to, srve for his own interests.

Later, police arrested the main accused Ali Hassan alias Hasnu and recovered an illegal weapon from his possession. The police registered another FIR No: 101/2007 against him under section 13-D.
