The demonstration was led by the brothers of the deceased, Mashooq, Bashir Liaquat, and a social worker Dr Ibrahim Rind.

Mashooq said a team of Johi police station led by the SHO, Rasool Bux Siyal raided Gul Mohammad village and arrested Ghulam Ali Khaskheli on Friday night. He alleged that police after killing him in fake encounter termed him criminal.

Dr Ibrahim Rind said police for promotions staged fake encounter and killed Ghulam Ali who was not involved in any crime. He demanded registration of murder case of Ghulam Ali Khaskheli against SHO Johi Rasool Bux Siyal, WHC Mohammad Paryal and other police personnel.

Rasool Bux Siyal reached there and asked the protesters to open the road. After exchanging hot words with the demonstrators, police resorted to baton charge as result of which 10 persons got injured.

The TPO headquarters Dadu, Gul Baig Jatoi told reporters that Ghulam Ali was involved in seven cases at different police stations. He said Ghulam Ali was crossing the flood protective bund with dacoit Anwar Lund when police tried to arrest them. Ghulam Ali shot himself with his pistol while Anwar Lund escaped.

Villagers tried to bring the body of Khaskheli to Dadu for protest but police stopped their vehicle at Chhandan Mori where police used teargas and did not allow them to reach Dadu. Reports said five villagers were injured by police at Chhandan Mori.
