KARACHI, May 6: A seminar to mark the golden jubilee of the Department of Microbiology, University of Karachi, will be organised at the DJ Sindh Government Science College on Monday at 10.30am.

An announcement here on Sunday said that the topic of the moot would be ‘Update on avian influenza: surveillance strategies to avoid AI pandemic’.

Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi of the KU’s Microbiology department will speak on the occasion. She is also a member of Animal Sciences, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, Islamabad. Those interested to attend have been asked to contact Prof Nighat Zafar, head of the Department of Microbiology, DJ Science College.—APP
