HYDERABAD, April 15: The students of the Centre of Excellence in Arts and Design staged a demonstration outside the press club on Saturday against shortage of teachers and facilities and demanded removal of the centre’s director.

Student leaders Hussamuddin, Ghulam Rasool and Anwar Ali told journalists that they had met with the vice-chancellor of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology with which the centre was affiliated and complained to him about the problems but he expressed his inability to remove the director.

They said that the centre faced acute shortage of teachers and lab equipment and demanded the directors who, according to them, had nothing to do with arts and design should be removed. —Bureau
