KHAIRPUR, April 13: The Khairpur police arrested an outlaw after a gun battle here on Friday. The District Police Officer (DPO) of Khairpur, Din Mohammad Baloch, told journalists on Friday that movements of an outlaw Abdul Ghani alias Ghanoo Phulpoto along with his accomplices were kept under strict surveillance.

The DPO formed a police team which surrounded the area near Phul Wahan village. The outlaws and police exchanged fire and police succeeded in arresting Abdul Ghani alias Ghanoo in an injured condition.

According to police, a Kalashnikov, three magazines and a bag full of bullets were recovered from his possession.

Mr Baloch said that Ghanoo Phulpoto’s other accomplices, including Jammy Burdi, Asghar Junejo, Abdul Razzaq alias Karo Phulpoto, Kashmir alias Kashoo Phulpoto and Anwar alias Mushki Kalhoro managed to escape.

The arrested outlaw was wanted in over 16 cases registered against him at different police stations of the district.

It may be recalled that one of the bandits, Gulsher Marri alias Gulshoo of Baigho Marri gang was shot dead by the Khairpur police near Soomar Jalbani village in a shootout a couple of days ago.
