KARACHI: Man kills wife

KARACHI, April 12: A young woman was killed allegedly by her husband and brothers-in-law in the limits of Mominabad police station on Thursday, police said. Shumaila, 20, a resident of Sector 10, Haryana Colony, was married to Ilyas, alias Shahzad, about twenty months ago. On Thursday, police said, she was allegedly attacked by her husband and brothers-in-law, Mohammad Shahid and Abdul Saeed.

The duo, as Shumaila’s father, Mushtaq Ahmed, lodged complaint with the Mominabad police station, beat her daughter and then killed her with sharp-edged weapons.

The police said the cause behind the murder of the mother of an infant child was domestic dispute. The three accused were arrested and further investigations were under way.

According to medico-legal officer of the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, repeated wounds caused by a sharp-edged object were found on the body.

AXED TO DEATH: Body of a 35-year-old man was found from a garbage dump near Massan Chowk in the limits of Jackson police station.

Police said they found a deep wound in the head of the deceased which caused his death. He was axed to death, said an official. The identity of the deceased could not be established as yet.

ACCIDENT: Body of an unknown man was found from near Al-Asif Square. The deceased was 65-year-old and he was a victim of a hit-and-run vehicle.
