KARACHI, April 2: The Sindh Labour and Transport Minister, Adil Siddiqui, has directed Secretary Education Section of Sindh Workers Welfare Board to grant admissions on merit to the children of labourers in Workers Model Schools on priority basis.

According to an official handout here Monday, the admissions for new academic year to the Workers Model Schools have started from April 2.

It further stated that admissions were open for Landhi, Korangi Karachi and Hyderabad, Sukkur Sindh areas in KG-I English medium of Workers Model Schools.Admissions and registration forms would be available up to April 18. The last date for registration is April 20 while admission tests and interviews would be conducted from April 23 to 28. Merit list would be displayed on May 3 while classes would start from August 6.

On the directives of the minister, textbooks, two pairs of uniform, stationary, school bags and two pairs of shoes are distributed free of charge among students while schools in Hyderabad and Sukkur are provided with transport facility as well.—PPI
