KARACHI: Women role models for 2007

Karachi, Feb 27: Sindh Minister for Women Development Dr Saeeda Malik has called intellectuals and other segments of society to come up with solutions and suggestions that could ensure the end of Karo-Kari culture in Sindh. These suggestions, she stated would be put before the Sindh Assembly for debate.

She said this while speaking as chief guest at a gala night organized to present award to the distinguished working women who had made a name for themselves.

Dr Malik congratulated the winners of the Role Model Award 2007 whom she described as role models for women not only in Pakistan, but anywhere in the world. The role models chosen for 2007 were: Yasmeen Lari, Amina Saiyid, Sultana Siddiqui, Zubaida Rasul, Sheema Kirmani, Sonia Batla, Rukiya Nazeer, Dr Rehana Shah and Justice (retd) Nasira.
