KARACHI, Feb 13: Students of old batches of the Dawood College of Engineering and Technology have demanded of the authorities concerned to conduct supplementary examination to save the future of 142 residual students.

Speaking at a news conference at the Karachi Press Club, the representatives of the DCET’s Students’ Action Committee said that they were admitted to the batch of 1991-1996. Due to administrative dispute between the DCET administration and the NED University, the college was disaffiliated and their examination could not be held.

They asked the authorities concerned and appealed to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to play their role in resolving this issue as for them the four-year engineering course had stretched to 12-years.

They warned if their demand was not met, they would launch a protest campaign, observe hunger strike in front of the DCET and the Karachi Press Club, and would end their lives.

They also appealed to the president, prime minister, Sindh governor and chief minister to look into the matter.
