KARACHI, Feb 5: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal has directed the authorities to speed up work on the Sohrab Goth flyover and open one track for vehicular traffic in a week. He said this during a visit to inspect development projects upon his return from London on Monday. He inspected the construction of service roads and storm water drains during his visit to the Gharibabad, Liaquatabad and Nazimabad underpasses.

He directed officials to complete the installation of streetlights and ordered the Works and Services Department to depute additional labour and machinery to accelerate the pace of work.

The formal inauguration of the signal-free corridor and Bagh Ibne Qasim and the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Elevated Expressway will be held this month. The city nazim also visited Pak Colony, Garden Road, Gulistan-i-Jauhar, to inspect installation work on a water pipeline. He maintained that the city government was the only district government in Pakistan which had completed a number of mega projects in a record one-year time.
