SUKKUR: Girl, four others kidnapped

SUKKUR, Feb 18: Five persons, including a girl, were kidnapped form different areas on Monday.

Two persons of the Jatoi tribe, Gul Hasan and Dil Murad, were going to Pano Aqil when unidentified armed bandits intercepted them and on gunpoint took them away, along with their motorcycle.

The relatives of Hasan and Murad alleged that Maher tribesmen had kidnapped them and said that they had contacted the chieftain of the tribe to get them recovered. The reason of the kidnapping was said to be a dispute over cattle heads.

No FIR was lodged.

Ms Zibaida Bhatti, 19, was kidnapped from village Abdul Sattar, in Gudu police station jurisdiction, by three armed persons, Asghar Shah, Mittah Shah and Shahbaz Bhati.

The police registered the case.

Liaqat Khalti and Nazeer Ahmed Bhutto were kidnapped from village Sattar Abad in Bakshapur police station jurisdiction.

The unidentified armed bandits barged into the house of Liaqat Khalti and on gunpoint took away both the persons.

PROBE: District and Session Judge, Sukkur, Zaheeruddin S. Leghari, will hold inquiry into the death of an under-trial prisoner Qatubuddin Pirzada confined in Sukkur Central Prison-I.

Any person having any knowledge about the death of the under-trial prisoner has been advised to appear before the court at 8.30am on Mar 4 and record his statement.
