ATTOCK, Jan 3: Three persons were killed in separate incidents in different areas of the district during Eid holidays. Police said that a young man was shot dead by his rivals in village Chabb of Injra police station on Eid day (Monday) over an old enmity.

Javed Iqbal resident of village Chabb reported to police station Injra that he was sitting at the shop of his brother Zafar Iqbal on Eid day, when three persons Muhammad Farooq, Amin Attaullah and Israr Ahmed came and started firing on his brother killing him on the spot.

In another incident in village Farmuli of police station Rangu, some armed persons entered the house of a local villager Shamshad on Tuesday night and opened fire on him as a result he died. Separate murder cases were registered by the respective Police stations against the accused and are investigating .

Meanwhile, one person died in a road accident at Attock- Kamra road on Wednesday morning.

Taj Khan resident of Attock city was standing at the bus stop of People’s Colony on Attock-Kamra road, when an over-speeding wagon (AJKB-3839) hit him badly.

He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the DHQ Hospital Attock but he could not survive.

HIDES COLLECTION: The local administration failed to stop various mysterious organizations from collecting hides contrary to their claim of keeping a vigilant eye on their activities during the Eid days.

The failure of police and other law-enforcement agencies in stopping these organizations from collecting hides deprived the genuine religious and social welfare organizations of Attock of their right to the hides.

EXCESSIVE FARES: The local transporters have been overcharging the commuters since Monday due to lack of proper check by the traffic police and Road Transport Authority.
