KARACHI, Dec 23: A seminar on the role of radio as `Nation Building Medium in Pakistan’ was organized at the PBC Broadcasting House here on Saturday.

Renowned writer and poet Jameeluddin Aali was the chief guest.

The speakers included a former federal minister of information and broadcasting, Javed Jabbar, Maj-Gen (retd) Ghulam Umer, the former acting director of programmes, Sabeh Mohsin and an expert on special education, Qudsia Khan.

The speakers lauded the role played by Radio Pakistan as the sole national broadcasting organization for creating unity of thought and action among the nation and for enhancing the image of the country abroad besides countering the propaganda of inimical elements.

They express the view that radio as a medium still had to play a pivotal role in the great interest of the people and the country.—APP
