HYDERABAD, Dec 12: Jamshoro District Coordination Officer Dr Mohammad Khawar Jameel said on Tuesday that the Sindh government had sanctioned compensation for people who died and those who were injured in a road accident, which took place on Indus Highway on September 25 last year.

About 34 people, mostly students and employees of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) who were going to Qalandar Lal Shahbaz Mela, died and 30 others suffered injuries after their bus collided head-on with a coach on the National Highway on September 25 last year.

The DCO said in a statement that the sanctioned amount had been made available to the office of DCO and advised the legal heirs of the deceased and the injured to contact DCO secretariat of Jamshoro personally or call on 022-3871946, fax: 022-3871954 on any working day.

They should produce documentary proof for their claim by December 21, which included NIC of the deceased or applicant, death certificate of the deceased, heirship certificate in case of claim of the deceased, NOC or authority of other legal heirs in case of the deceased, affidavit of Rs20, a copy of FIR, two passport sized photos of the applicant, medical certificate from LUMHS Hyderabad or Jamshoro in case of the injured and certificate from UC nazim concerned.
