QUETTA, Oct 31: Two Frontier Corps soldiers were killed and another was seriously injured when a landmine exploded in the Pirkoh area of Dera Bugti district on Tuesday. Also on Tuesday, rockets were fired on the village of a former speaker of the Balochistan Assembly near Dera Murad Jamali.

According to official sources, Frontier Corps personnel were defusing landmines planted by tribal militants in the Doie Wadh area, some 15 km north of the Pir Koh gas field, when a vehicle hit by a landmine, killing soldiers Javed Afzal and Mohammad Saeed. Mohammad Tariq was seriously injured.

The injured soldier was taken to the military hospital in Sui.
