SWABI, Oct 30: Members of the faculty and staff of the GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology have expressed deep grief over the death of former president Ghulam Ishaq Khan and termed it a national loss.

At a condolence meeting held here on Monday, they said the institute was the gift of the former president to the nation.

The institute’s Rector Dr Abdullah Sadiq presided over the meeting.

Late Ghulam Ishaq Khan was also elected president for life of the Society for the Promotion of Engineering Sciences and Technology when it was established in June 1988.

The society is the parent body of the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute.—Correspondent
