Six Sukkur jail officials suspended

SUKKUR, Oct 29: Inspector General (Prisons) Sindh Mohammad Yamin Khan on Sunday suspended six officials, including jail superintendent and deputy jail superintendent of Central Jail-I Sukkur, on charges of negligence.

Jail sources said that following a foiled attempt by three prisoners to break central jail-I last week, the inpector general suspended Jail Superintendent Gulzar Ahmed Channa, Deputy Superintendent Jail Aurangzeb Kamboh, Assistant Jail Superintendents Mohammad Ali Shaikh, Nadir Panhwar, Mohammad Aslam Malik and Waheed Noonari.

The Sindh inpector general has ordered the jail superintendent of Khairpur Pir Shabbir Jan Sarhandi to take over the additional charge of Central Jail-I Sukkur and made deputy superintendent of Dadu jail Shahid Hussain Chijro deputy superintendent at central jail-I Sukkur.
