SARGODHA, Oct 24: Eidul Fitr was celebrated in the villages and towns on Jhang-Sargodha Road on Monday. It is learnt that more than a dozen people sighted the moon of Shawwal on Monday evening near 92 Morr, some 20 kilometers from here. Five of the people who claimed that they had seen the moon also approached the district administration but they refused to accept their evidence.

It is not the first time that the people were divided on the issue of moon sighting. There are some religious leaders in Sahiwal and Sillanwali who always gave their own independent views and cause chaos and uncertainty among the people of THE area.

Religious leader Muhammad Ramzan said the government should implement the verdict of Ruet-i-Hilal Committee all over the country and those who create confusion should be punished.

SECURITY: Meanwhile, the police have declared 340 mosques sensitive in the four districts of Sargodha region and enhanced the security.

In Sargodha, 80 mosques have been declared sensitive, while 180 mosques in Khushab, 54 in Mianwali and 25 in Bhakkar.

Sargodha DPO Umar Sheikh said he would personally supervise the security measures.
