KARACHI, Oct 16: As elsewhere in the country, the 55th death anniversary of the first prime minister of Pakistan, Shaheed-i-Millat Khan Liaquat Ali Khan, was observed in Karachi on Monday.

Quran Khawani was arranged at the tomb of Liaquat Ali Khan, located in the precincts of the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

People from various walks of life visited the mazar of Liaquat Ali Khan to pay their homage. Federal Minister Mahmood Ali also visited the mazar, laid floral wreath and offered fateha.

He also visited the Mazar of Quaid-i-Azam and offered fateha.

Later, Mahmood Ali visited the Qauid-i-Azam Academy where the director briefed him about the functioning of the academy.

A number of organisations arranged programmes to pay tributes to Khan Liaquat Ali Khan.
