KHAIRPUR: 13 arrested

KHAIRPUR, Sept 8: Police on Friday arrested 13 people for clashing with the Hesco staff. About 35 people were booked at the Sobhodero police on Friday night on the complaint of line superintendent Ali Nawaz Dahri.

Hesco officials along with three policemen went to remove electricity transformer and disconnect power supply to Miran Jo Chhaho area near Saghiyoon on Thursday. The villagers protested against it and a clash took place between villagers and Hesco employees. Three Hesco employees and one villager were injured.

Hesco officials said the villagers also snatched mobile phones and cash from employees and injured Maqsood Mallah, Altaf Bhutto and Mohammad Sharif. The arrested villagers have been identified as Dahessar, Illahi Bux, Badal, Iqbal, Ghulam Mohammad, Ali Asghar, Barkat Ali, Ghulam Ali, Munir, Bagh Ali, Mohammad Bux, Abdul Mutalib and Khamiso.
