HYDERABAD, Sept 7: The city was lashed by heavy rain on Thursday evening after a break of about 15 days. It started raining at 5:45pm and continued till 9:45.

Lightning and thunderstorm accompanied the rain.

All main roads submerged under the rainwater and power suspension was reported from some parts of the city.

Business activities were also affected.

SANGHAR: Many trees were uprooted and electricity poles fell when a duststorm followed by rain hit the district on Thursday.

The power supply was disrupted in various towns and villages.

Shahpur Chakar, Khadro, Jhol, Kurkali and Khipro received rain.

Vegetables nurseries were damaged which were sown during the last two or three days.

The situation of roads and sewage network worsened which were already in bad condition due to previous rains.

It was raining till the filing of the report.

MIRPURKHAS: Mirpurkhas and its adjoining towns received rain after a break of 15 days.

As a result, power and water supply was suspended to the city.

Rain started in afternoon, making roads slippery.

Business activities were suspended for some hours.

The power supply was restored after two hours.

BADIN: Heavy rain coupled with strong winds lashed the city and other towns of the district after a break of two weeks.

The rain started at 4:30pm and continued till the filing of this report.

Most parts of the city particularly low-lying areas were inundated.

Civic life was paralysed as power supply was suspended and sewerage system collapsed.

A heavy rain with strong winds was also reported from coastal towns of Kadhan, Serani, Ahmed Raju and Behdmi.
