KARACHI: DHA, CCB apology welcomed

Published August 26, 2006

KARACHI, Aug 25: Leader of the opposition in the City Council, Karachi, Saeed Ghani on Thursday welcomed the apology by DHA and Clifton Cantonment Board for the miseries suffered by people during and after recent rains, and said that City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal also should apologise to citizens.

In his statement, Mr Ghani termed the DHA and CCB apology ‘a welcomed tradition’, and said the City District Government Karachi, too, should follow the same as it had failed to save people from undergoing mental and physical agonies and suffering material losses.

“The act of apologising over any failure comforts citizens and proves that the authorities are not patronising those who demonstrate negligence and slackness in the discharge of their duties,” he added.—PPI
