SWABI: Swabi Deputy Commissioner Nasrullah Khan has warned of initiating action against the truant teachers of public sector schools.

Officials told Dawn that DC Nasrullah issued the warning during a visit to the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kotha, in Topi tehsil on Saturday.

They said that assistant commissioner (revenue) Sabiha Hastam also accompanied the DC.

They checked the attendance of teachers and students, and directed the management to ensure cleanliness in and around the institution.

Mr Nasrullah directed that students should be provided a conducive environment for learning.

“The inspections will continue to improve the performance of government educational institutions,” officials said, quoting the DC.

The deputy commissioner also directed the assistant commissioners of the four tehsils to visit schools in their jurisdictions and initiate action against truant teachers.
