HYDERABAD: The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) on Tuesday announced that electronic attendance of candidates would be ensured in all written examinations to be held by it.
The decision was taken by the SPSC management headed by Rizwan Ahmed, according to an announcement.
It said that candidates’ particulars would be digitally examined as it would help curb impersonation in the exams.
The commission said that this step of electronic attendance was in line with modern day needs in order to make the exam process transparent, safe and trustworthy.
A spokesman for the commission said that the e-attendance had been tested in recently held revenue qualifying departmental exams and it was then decided that all descriptive examinations would have this mode of attendance.
He, however, said that computer-based tests would be exempted from this attendance as this examination was already linked with electronic attendance. He said that this initiative would make sure that the rights of all competent and able candidates were protected and merit was ensured in recruitment while equal opportunities would be offered to eligible candidates. He said SPSC would keep modernising its system at examination centres to ensure transparency in recruitment process and come up to the expectations of people through these reforms.
