RAWALPINDI: The Intermediate Second Annual Examination 2026, organised by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi, will begin on Tuesday (today).

According to BISE Rawalpindi spokesman Arslan Cheema, all arrangements for the examinations have been finalised. Roll number slips have been issued to all candidates, and the necessary staff has been deployed at examination centres.

The board has established 41 examination centres, including seven in Attock district, four in Chakwal, two in Talagang, five in Jhelum, two in Murree and 17 in Rawalpindi.

These include 11 centres for male students, 12 for female students and 17 co-educational centres. All examination centres have been linked to a command and control centre, from where they will be monitored online.

He said surveillance cameras had also been installed at all centres to ensure that the examination process remained transparent, fair and well-organised, and to facilitate the timely detection of any illicit activity.

In this regard, a high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of BISE Rawalpindi Chairman Professor Dr Iqbal Mahmood. Controller of Examinations Mubashir Saeed also attended the meeting.

A detailed review was conducted of examination arrangements, security, monitoring, distribution of question papers, collection of answer scripts and facilities provided to candidates.

On the occasion, Professor Dr Iqbal Mahmood said all available resources were being utilised to ensure that the examination process remained transparent, fair and well-organised.

“Candidates appearing in the examinations will be provided with the best possible facilities, while modern technology and a comprehensive administrative strategy have been adopted to ensure effective oversight of the examination system,” he said.

He further said there would be no compromise on merit, transparency or discipline during the examinations.
