BANNU: The local chapter of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) here on Monday demanded arrest of the killers of Darul Uloom Haqqania head Maulana Samiul Haq.

Addressing a press conference at Bannu Press Club, JUI-S district chief Syed Fida Ahmad Shah said that Maulana Samiul Haq was assassinated on Nov 2, 2018 but his killers were yet to be brought to justice.

He said that the assassination deprived thousands of students of Darul Uloom Haqqania of a great religious and spiritual mentor.

Mr Shah said that since the assassination, his party had raised its voice through protests and every available forum, but regrettably, even after seven years, neither the perpetrators had been exposed nor justice had been delivered to the bereaved family and the party.

He asked the government to arrest the killers of Maulana Samiul Haq and provide justice to his family. He said that his party would spare no effort to enforce Sharia in the country and would not hesitate to render every sacrifice for the cause.
