QUETTA: Two people were killed while another was abducted by armed men in the Gulistan tehsil of Balochistan’s Qila Abdullah district on Sunday, officials said.

According to the officials, unidentified armed men abducted Haider, son of Bismillah. Local residents, angered by the kidnapping attempt, exchanged fire with the abductors. The exchange of fire between the residents and the kidnappers left two people dead. They were identified as Abdul Wali and Hanifullah.

After killing the two people and abducting Haider, the armed men fled to an undisclosed location.

Police and other law-enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to recover the abducted man and arrest those involved in the incident.
