QUETTA: Security forces have killed 14 terrorists during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in different areas of Balochistan, including Quetta, Khuzdar and Noshki, and Pasni, while two security personnel were injured in a gun battle.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement issued on Sunday that security forces conducted the operations on Saturday on the basis of intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan.

The state has designated Balochistan-based groups as Fitna al-Hindustan to highlight India’s role in terrorism and destabilisation across Pakistan.

In the Panjpai area of Quetta district, an attempt by terrorists to establish a roadblock to disrupt local traffic was “intercepted by security forces, resulting in [the] killing of five India-sponsored terrorists”.

Six slain in Pasni, five in Quetta, two in Noshki and one in Khuzdar; two security personnel injured

In Noshki district, security forces busted a terrorist hideout and “after an intense fire exchange, two terrorists were sent to hell”. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered, ISPR added.

In Khuzdar, security forces launched a prompt offensive against a terrorist hideout, killing one terrorist. The military’s media wing said a large quantity of explosives, weighing 490kg, was also recovered.

Meanwhile, security officials said the forces also conducted an operation under Radul Fitna-3 in the Shadi Kour area of Pasni, Gwadar district. Six terrorists were killed in a gun battle.

“Two jawans of security forces were injured in the heavy exchange of fire,” a security official said.
