ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sohail Ashraf visited Sector C-14 and Sangjani Interchange to review ongoing development work.

“The chairman was informed that basic infrastructure has been completed, electricity provision is nearing completion, and installation of streetlights and road signboards has been completed. Landscaping and horticulture work is also progressing,” read a press release issued by the CDA.

It said that the chairman was told that handing over of the possession of developed plots to allottees had formally commenced. The chairman directed the concerned officers to expedite the process and ensure timely possession for all eligible allottees.

“In line with the vision of Federal Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, the chairman emphasised that timely development of residential sectors and improved civic facilities remain key priorities of CDA.”

Later, the chairman inspected the ongoing construction work at Sangjani Interchange and directed the relevant teams to accelerate progress, maintain quality standards and complete the project within the stipulated timeframe,” added the press release.

Mr Ashraf said that all available resources were being utilised to improve Islamabad’s infrastructure, facilitate allottees and provide citizens with modern residential facilities and efficient civic services.

It is relevant to note here that the development work on C-14 has almost been completed as the sector remained priority of CDA during the last two years it had sold out plots against around Rs60 million per kanal. However, development of adjoining C-15 is either stalled or continued at a slow pace. There is no sign of development work in C-13 while development of C-16 is very slow.

Meanwhile, like several other sectors, CDA has yet to clear compensation cases of these C series sectors.

Resultantly, the civic agency is facing possession issues as the local landlords have been demanding the CDA to clear their compensation cases first, but CDA has been using delaying tactics.

Built-up property cases of sector C-15 and land and built-up property cases of C-13 despite announcement of award are also pending for years.
