RAWALPINDI: Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) administration lodged an FIR against the contractor of the hospital parking area for overcharging.

A team from the Punjab chief minister’s monitoring unit visited the Benazir Bhutto Hospital and found that the contractor was charging more than the fixed rates.

A case was registered against the private parking company at the Waris Khan police station based on a complaint filed by the security supervisor.

It was revealed that parking staff were charging citizens amounts exceeding the prescribed rates; the fixed parking fee is Rs30 for cars, jeeps, and loader rickshaws, and Rs10 for motorcycles.

The police stated that the fixed parking fee for trucks is Rs50, noting that citizens were facing difficulties due to staff charging amounts higher than these set rates.

Initiating action against the officials of the parking company, the police registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.

BBH Medical Superintendent Dr Sharjeel Sheikh also said that the monitoring team pointed out that the parking contractor was involved in overcharging the citizens.
