PESHAWAR: Security forces on Monday killed three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan, state media reported on Monday.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the security forces for conducting the security operation.

In separate statements, President Zardari said effective operations by the security forces were playing an important role in weakening terrorist networks, adding that the “nefarious designs” of terrorist elements operating with external support would be thwarted at all costs.

The prime minister reiterated that the state remained committed to completely eliminating terrorists.
