OKARA: A man allegedly shot his mother dead over her second marriage and also injured his brother near village 10/4L.

According to the FIR, Waseem Akram was taking his mother Manzooran Bibi from village 7/4L to village 8/4L on a motorcycle when they were intercepted by suspect Ali Rizwan near 10/4L. The suspect allegedly opened fire on his mother and brother Wasim Akram. The duo abandoned their motorcycle and ran into the nearby fields while the suspect chased them and kept shooting. As a result, Manzooran was killed on the spot while Waseem suffered bullet injuries.

The FIR claimed that Manzooran had contracted a second marriage against the will of her family. However, the matter was reconciled between the mother and her sons and she started visiting her sons.

Rescue 1122 shifted the dead body and the injured to the City DHQ Hospital, while the Cantt police registered a case against the suspect and arrested him.
