KARACHI: Civil society members and political activists staged a protest demonstration at Teen Talwar, Clifton against the rising incidents of kidnapping for ransom, sexual abuse and murder of innocent children in the metropolis.

The demonstration, organised by the city chapter of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, also saw the participation of women, lawyers and members of affected families.

The protesters raised strong slogans demanding protection for innocent children, immediate arrest of the perpetrators and speedy justice for the affected families.

They demanded the immediate arrest of the killers of Mir Raza Ali, Aizal, Rosheem Khan and other innocent children, effective protection for children and women, measures to control rising crime and justice for the affected families.

The protesters made it clear that their struggle would continue until violence against innocent children was brought to an end and justice was delivered to the affected families.

Speaking on the occasion, PML-F leader Sardar Abdul Rahim demanded that the chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) take suo motu notice of the cases involving Rosheem Khan, Mir Raza Ali, Wali, Aizal and other innocent children and ensure that the affected families receive justice within fifteen days.

He said that if the police were failing to perform their duties, the CJP could direct the police to carry out their responsibilities in accordance with the law.

He appealed to all bar associations to stop representing such brutal criminals and murderers so that these cases could reach their logical conclusion at the earliest.
