ISLAMABAD: Security forces killed 10 terrorists in separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa between Sept 15 and 17, while six soldiers were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation was carried out in North Waziristan after reports of the presence of terrorists in the area. Security forces effectively targeted their hideout, killing six khwarij belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij in an intense exchange of fire.

The state uses the term Fitna al-Khawarij for the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

In another clash in Hangu, four terrorists were killed.
