Rain damages vegetable, maize crops in Bajaur

BAJAUR: Rain coupled with strong winds and dust damaged vegetable and maize crops in Bajaur district on Friday.

Residents said rain with gusty winds started at about 5pm in Khar, Lowi Mamund and War Mamund tehsils, also damaging steel-based shelters and rooftop solar panels at several houses.

However, no casualties were reported. The brief rain turned the weather pleasant. Residents said power supply to most areas was suspended, which could not be restored till filing of this report on Friday night.
