PATNA: The Urdu Press in Bihar and West Bengal has revealed that the Bharati Government has prepared a “Black List” containing the names of all those prominent Muslims who will have to be arrested as soon as a rupture in relations between Pakistan and Bharat takes place. Among these are ... former Muslim League members, Salars of the Muslim National Guard and all those Muslims who count ... in the public life.
Revealing this, the Rozana Hind writes: “We are not surprised at this news because we remember with pain that at the time of the ‘Police Action’ against Hyderabad, a wave of arrests of innocent Muslims swept the entire country, though after sometime no less a man than Sardar Patel had to regret over the step his Government took against the Musalmans.
“But we do not want to say anything more … than that the arrest of innocent Muslims on the mere pretext of their being in love or in communication with Pakistan will be a slur on the secular character of the Bharati Government, and we fail to understand how … the Government here can expect the Muslims to be absolutely faithful … to it, or to have the same confidence in it which they should otherwise have.”
