Kidnapped toddler recovered, suspect arrested

RAWALPINDI: Police recovered a toddler two days after being kidnapped from Sadiqabad and arrested the suspect, said the police on Monday.

A police spokesman said shortly after the incident was reported to the Sadiqabad police, the police started an investigation and by using CCTV and Safe City cameras along with human intelligence traced and arrested the alleged kidnapper.

He added that SP Rawal Bedar Bakht and ASP New Town Daniyal Khan handed over the child to the family at the Sadiqabad police station on Monday.

The suspect had kidnapped the child and taken him to Islamabad. The motives behind the kidnapping are being investigated.

The suspect will be interrogated and a challan will be filed with the court with solid evidence, the police spokesman added.
