KARACHI: First Lady and MNA Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday visited Spencer Eye Hospital, where she interacted with patients and was briefed on efforts to expand eye care services in the area.

Accompanied by Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Ms Bhutto-Zardari was given an overview of the hospital’s operations and ongoing initiatives aimed at improving access to quality eye care for residents of Lyari.

During the visit, she met patients receiving treatment, listened to their concerns, and spoke with an elderly woman who had recently undergone cataract surgery. She also expressed satisfaction with the performance of the hospital’s medical staff.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Wahab said the hospital’s operation theatres are expected to become fully functional next month, further enhancing the facility’s capacity to provide specialised eye care services.

He said the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), in partnership with a welfare body, remains committed to ensuring the provision of quality healthcare services to the public.

The mayor also thanked Ms Bhutto-Zardari for visiting the hospital and supporting efforts to strengthen healthcare services in Lyari.
