GUJRAT: Three siblings who died in a rain-related incident on Saturday were laid to rest in Karianwala on Monday after their father arrived from abroad.

The funeral prayers were offered in a local graveyard of Karianwala where the deceased were buried.

Eman Aslam (15) and her two brothers Falak Sher (13) and Ali Aslam (11) had died when the roof of their house caved in during the heavy rainfall on Saturday at Borhwala Mohallah in Karianwala Town.

Sources said Aslam Bhatti, the father of children, had gone abroad a few weeks ago and the family decided to bury the kids on his return.

Gujrat ADCR Waqas Safdar told Dawn that DC Nurulain Qureshi had approved the financial assistance of Rs1m each for the deceased whereas the compensation for the house damage might also be given as per the policy of Provincial Disaster Management Authority.
