SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Two people were killed and another one sustained injuries when unidentified armed men opened fire on a shop in Servekai area of Upper South Waziristan on Monday, police sources said.
They said unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire inside a shop in the jurisdiction of Servekai Police Station, killing two people on the spot and injuring another.
The slain were identified as Ali Khan, shopkeeper, and Muhammad Afzal Jan, a retired schoolteacher.
A man named Daud was injured in the firing and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Soon after the incident, a heavy contingent of police arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area to collect evidence. The assailants, however, managed to escape after committing the crime.
An investigation was launched to determine the motive behind the killings.
