THE recent visit of Bangladeshi academics to Pakistan, which was hosted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), was aimed at strengthening bilateral links under the banner of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor. The visit was an eye-opening experience for the 15-member delegation as the members witnessed the progress Pakistan has made in developing internationally recognised research institutions and advanced technological capabilities.

Senior Pakistani academics consistently expressed strong interest in collaborating with Bangladeshi universities. They were keen to support capacity-building mechanisms as well as transfer of techno-logy that may significantly benefit Bangladesh. The untapped educational collaboration between Bangladesh and Pakistan has the potential to become a powerful catalyst for academic excellence, research innovation and technological advancement.

The knowledge, experience and goodwill shared during the visit demonstrated that universities in both countries could benefit enormously from deeper engagement, joint research initiatives, faculty exchange and student mobility. Strengthening these ties will not only enrich higher education systems, but also contribute to broader regional cooperation and development.
