ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry on Saturday visited Islamabad Model Jail and reviewed progress on the ongoing construction work.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Chaudhry said the Islamabad Model Jail was a priority project of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
He said the project, which had been pending for years, had been given practical shape by the present government. “The current government started work on the Islamabad Model Jail project with speed,” he added.
The minister of state said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, development projects were being completed at a record pace.
Mr Chaudhry directed the relevant departments to further accelerate the pace of work for timely completion of the project. “The work should be completed swiftly, but quality must be maintained at all costs,” he said.
The minister of state was given a detailed briefing on the progress of the development work at the model jail. Relevant officials of the CDA were also present during the visit.
